DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Your pet can’t always tell us where it hurts, so it’s up to us to figure out what’s wrong as quickly as possible. Our animal hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment allowing us to quickly diagnose and treat your pet, including:

  • Radiology Equipment (X-ray)
  • Ultrasound
  • In-House Laboratory

Radiology is one of the most useful techniques available for diagnosing your pet's problem quickly and efficiently.  We are equipped with the latest radiographic technology and our highly-skilled technicians are well-trained in using radiographic equipment. By providing an inside snapshot of your pet's body and organs, x-rays can aid in the diagnosis of orthopedic issues (fractures and hip dysplasia), arthritic changes in bones and joints, heart disease, bladder stones, tumors and other health problems.

Ultrasound
is a diagnostic imaging technique that allows us to look at the organs of the abdomen or chest such as the liver, kidneys, heart or spleen in 3-D. The procedure is a safe, comfortable non-invasive procedure for your dog or cat. Veterinary ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive and safe tool allowing visualization of tissues not otherwise possible.

Our in-house laboratory and state of the art digital radiology equipment allow us to quickly and thoroughly evaluate your pet’s health and provide immediate diagnostics during a preventative wellness exam and when your pet becomes ill or has been injured. We also work with several outside laboratories should your pet require specialized testing.

Laboratory diagnostics:

  • Urinalysis to check for kidney and bladder health
  • Blood tests for heartworm
  • Feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus testing
  • CBC (complete blood count) and serum chemistry analyzers
  • Coagulation profile
  • Glucose curves
  • Cultures for fungal conditions
  • Intestinal parasite screening
  • Ear cytology
  • Complete blood chemistry and advanced diagnostics to determine the overall health of your pet
